M2 Mobile WW products offer support for both mobile terminated (MT) text messages and mobile originated (MO) text messages.
The functionality of these products allows M2 Mobile WW customers (content providers) to send text messages on demand or on a scheduled basis to their subscribers for practically every industry.
M2 Mobile WW uses SMS modems, such as MultiModem iSMS Server, for small volume messaging or an aggregator for larger processing. Typically, aggregators provide a direct gateway to mobile carriers.
M2 Mobile WW's mobile aggregator offers 2 API:>
SMS messages are sent through phone numbers (mobile "addresses") referred to as long codes (standard phone numbers consisting of a country code, area code, exchange/number) and short codes (short numbers consisting of 5-6 digits) designated for mobile messaging. M2 Mobile WW utilizes both long codes and short codes.
Mobile Based Display Advertising is a type of mobile advertising focused on mobile web and application banners or posters. Depending on the website or application being used, a banner or poster ad will appear with relation to the website or application. This type of advertising is driven by novelty and requires advertisers to be as creative as possible due to the high amount of current display ads. With only seconds to capture the consumer's attention, a clear and concise campaign must be thought through thoroughly.
Smartphone Based Display Advertising functions much like MBDA which uses banners and posters to grab the consumer's attention. Unlike Mobile based although, SBDA has more potential for creativity and opportunities for direct interaction with the consumer. Smartphone Display Ads are virtually scaled down versions of ads you would see on your computer.
With 80% of data plan subscribers using mobile search there is a very good probability for quality reach. Mobile Based Search Advertising focuses on search. It works like pay-per-click on computers. Depending on the item searched, different ads will come up pertaining to the searched item. The ads which work best for this type of advertising are low consideration products due to the consumer's nature of searching for products while "on the run".
Keywords are associated with a combination of long and short codes and assigned to customers to designate processing instructions, such as confirmations. When a keyword is detected within a mobile originated message, an action is performed.
Actions include forwarding the message to another application for special processing; triggering special processing instructions such as the termination of additional messaging, or simply recording the message for later review/analysis.
M2 SMSManager: A secure PHP based web front-end where registered content providers can manage campaigns, number lists and messages.
M2 SMSManagement: This application represents a set of services that enable the management of scheduled mobile terminated text messages. Messages are recorded and stored in a database pending transmission.
Deliver Notification Server: As soon as messages are sent to the M2 Mobile WW aggregator, there is an immediate acknowledgement a message has been received. Content providers can request additional processing notifications as well as a final disposition notification. These come to the sender as messages from our aggregator, and are directed to the HTTP server that was designated by the sender in the original request.
Mobile Originator HTTP Server: When our aggregator receives messages originated at the handset, they are delivered to the MO HTTP message server. These will be matched to a keyword assigned to an organization. Each keyword has defined actions that consist of forwarding a message to another HTTP server for additional processing, as in the case of two-way SMS, or recording to the database for subsequent analysis.
In essence, Mobile Terminated messaging is the ability to send a "short" text message to one or more mobile numbers or groups of numbers. The maximum permitted length for a single message is 160 characters. Users are encouraged to keep messages within 140 characters.
This functionality allows M2 Mobile WW content providers the ability to maintain their Address Book and Send Groups features.
The Address Book feature allows an organization to manage a set of mobile phone numbers, track numbers tied to campaigns and build group lists that may be used in the place of individual phone numbers for future marketing tactics.
The Send Groups feature allows an organization to group a set of phone numbers from their address book. The group can then be used in place of individual numbers.
These features allow content providers to send thousands of messages at once and upload maintenance lists to the address book or group.
M2 Mobile WW customers are able to send replies and un-solicited requests to content providers. All inbound messages are processed through the Aggregator Mobile Origination HTTP Server. Inbound messages arrive in an XML envelope. Elements are broken down to support further processing as needed and data recorded.
M2 Mobile WW provides reports that allow customers to review the number of messages currently scheduled or deployed. Additionally, reports reflect disposition of messages within the limits of information returned by carriers and custom reports are available to assist with various user analysis and campaigns.
